Are Readymade Idli, Dosa Batters not good for health.?


This one should make you think twice before you buy wet idli-dosa batter from the neighbourhood shop. A survey by an NGO has found that more than half of samples of batter — branded and not — bought from different shops contained bacteria associated with faecal matter.

The samples were tested by Concert (Centre for consumer education, research, teaching, training and testing) using hydrogen sulphide bacteriological test kits marketed by TN water supply and drainage board.
